Automatic Height Calibration
system |
One of the most critical
parameters during dispensing
is the correct offset from
the nozzle to the PCB. The
CDS dispensing systems can
be equipped with a fully
automatic height calibration
systems.
It is possible to program
a measuring grid which covers
the dispense area for each
board type.
Within this defined grid
the system automatically
measures the correct height
before each production run.
the laser and vision based
system avoids damage to
the PCB as it completely
eliminates the need for
having a stand off foot
on the nozzle. Additionally
it allows dispense of dense
dot positions as no space
is required for the stand
off foot. |

Time/pressure valves |
The time/pressure valve
is ideal for dispensing
adhesives. The liquid does
not get in direct contact
with the valve itself and
reduces the need for regular
cleaning of the valve.
In combination with the
unique feature of height
compensation and the vision
system for automatic dot
sie calibration this valve
is used for precise and
fast applications.
The time/pressure valve
is available either on a
pneumatic(CDS6705) or on
a motor driven, height programmable
Z-axis. |

Automatic fiducial recognition
software |
An automatic board fiducial
recognition software package
is available. It allows
the machine to automatically
find two board reference
marks. Stretched, shrunk
or skewed boards can be
automatically detected and
the program adjusts the
necessary dispensing coordinates
accordingly. This feature
comes as a standard on all
inline systems, or as an
option an all stand alone
machines.
Two different vision systems
are available, One for standard
fiducials or an extended
version for difficult fiducials
with less contrast. |

Hot plates for heating the
substrates |
In some cases in conjunction
with the nozzle heating
system, it is necessary
to preheat the substrate.
When encapsulating chips,
the preheat is necessary
to allow a thermal reaction
to prevent voids around
the chips.
It is equipped with a PID
controller which sets and
controls the temperature
precisely. |

To dispense; first
dam around an area

having a medium viscosity
